Founder Director Glenda holds an MBA, is a qualified Social Worker and has qualifications in management, leadership and teaching. She brings over 30 years’ experience of practice and executive leadership in health and social care in the public and private sector.
When Glenda’s Aunt Peggy was diagnosed with dementia and was moved to a care home, she began using memory stimulation techniques to communicate with her. Glenda knew the potential of reminiscence therapy and began to show Aunt Peggy old photographs of their family and friends and talk to her about experiences in her life.
Not only did sharing those stories strengthen Glenda’s relationship with Aunt Peggy, but Glenda noticed that she had longer lucid moments and it seemed to improve her overall wellbeing.
